Pangong Lake

The Pangong Lake or the Pangong Tso is one of the highest altitude lakes in the world and is famed for its colour changing water, from blue to red and green. From camping to lakeside bonfire, a wide variety of activities can be enjoyed here. During the winter months, the lake can be seen completely frozen, which is a delightful sight in itself. Magnetic Hill

The famous Magnetic Hill of Ladakh is a cyclops hill, a place where vehicles seem to have defied the force of gravity and move upwards when parked at a particular marked location here. Located on the Leh-Kargil-Baltic National Highway, this place remains a mystery even today, as many tourists are awestruck to witness the magical experience. Located at an elevation of 14,000 feet, Magnetic Hill in Ladakh is one of the most mysterious and intriguing places to visit in the country. This small cyclops hillock is said to be a place where the forces of gravity are defied, as it is here where vehicles seem to be pulled in an upwards direction on the hill.

Nubra Valley

Nubra valley, also known as Dumra is one of the most famous and most beautiful destinations in Leh, Ladakh. From hot springs to river streams and from age-old monasteries to remote villages, Nubra Valley has everything which an explorer seeks. Being a high altitude destination, the valley has many double humped camels, riding which can be a delight. One of the most beautiful parts of the moonscapes of Ladakh, Nubra Valley is a deep-cut gorge created by the combined effects of Shyok and Nubra (Siachen) rivers. A high altitude cold desert, Nubra Valley is actually an extension of the Tibetan Plateau

Tso Moriri Lake

Amongst the most serene places to visit in Leh Ladakh, Tso Moriri is no less than a heaven. Nestled amidst picturesque and secluded Rupshu Valley, the Tso Moriri Lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and amazingly beautiful landscapes. The lake is approx. 4,000 m above sea level, about 29 km long and 8 km wide and is a great destination to enjoy the extraordinary natural elegance. Home to diverse species of exotic birds, including native to migratory birds, it is also a paradise for photographers and bird watchers. Known as the largest high altitude lake in India.

Shanti Stupa

In this world, much in need of peace, the white, beautiful and serene Shanti Stupa on a hilltop in Chanspa, Leh district, Ladakh, in the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir provides a fabulous, unobstructed view. This white beauty amidst the snow lets you experience a moment of breathlessness and it is one of the beautiful places to see in Leh Ladakh. Situated at a height of 4267 metres, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, the Stupa is at a distance of about 5 km from the Leh City. It was built by the Japanese monks to promote world peace and also to celebrate the 2500 years of Buddhism.

Kargil

The beautiful city of Kargil is the second largest in Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir after Leh. Known for its rich cultural, historical and political importance, this city sits at 2676 meters above sea level, along the banks of the Suru or Indus River. The location of Kargil makes for an extreme climate, with temperatures dropping to as low as -45 degree Celsius in winters! The people of Kargil were mostly Tibetan-Buddhist until the 18th and 19th century after which most converted to Islam. They are of mixed Dard and Tibetan descent, and most are Baltis.
